Our client was developing a large new 'out of town' store and realised during the final run up to opening that a large window column within the entrance was very visible from both inside and outside of the store due to its position and the floor to ceiling glass of the store facade.
The Brief
Our client felt that perhaps there had to be a way that the column could be used to incorporate a display cabinet and contacted us to discuss a solution. The cabinet needed to be:
- Lockable, because it was by the front door
- Frame-less, so that the cabinet didn’t obscure the product being displayed
- Designed, built, delivered and installed within three weeks before the store opened.
Our solution
- Provides a unique cabinet design with 180 degree visibility
- Incorporates glass shelves and an integral lighting scheme
- Acts as both a window display visible from the outside, and as a product highlight for customers entering the store
- Alleviates security concerns through its metal housing, column fixings and a hinging and lockable front acrylic panel which sits within a metal frame.
Production
- Design was approved quickly by our client
- We manufactured the cabinet against a tight deadline but with great attention to detail
- The finished unit was delivered and installed in time for the store opening.
Today
- The POD display has fully met it's requirements
- The presence of this display both inside the store and outside is supporting sales on highlighted products
- It is very visually arresting and offers a unique display solution for an otherwise open space.
